I teach Family and Consumer
Sciences and advise the local FCCLA chapter. The courses I teach
cover a variety of topics including leadership, careers,
relationships, nutrition and wellness, consumerism, and child
development. FCCLA stands for Family, Career, and Community Leaders
of America. The organization is completely student-led, and the main
focus is the family. I help the students develop skills to run for
office, complete in a variety of events, and raise funds to support
causes such as the Children's Miracle Network. The students work
hard, and provide a lot of service to our local school and
community. We try to teach all ages, young and old, in a variety of
ways to inform them of important causes and promote positive
communications between all generations. I love what I do, because I
can do my best to prepare students for some of the most important
roles they will play. I hope to help students be independent,
successful, healthy, happy adults! |
