I love teaching because it gives me the
opportunity to influence students in a positive manner. I enjoy
mathematics and have found that many students have developed a
dislike (sometimes hatred) toward math somewhere along the line.
Some students think that they "can't get it" and will always be "bad
at math". I enjoy working with the students to overcome these
attitudes and feelings while exposing them to the world of
mathematics. There are few experiences as rewarding as seeing the
face of a student when he or she finally "gets it". I really enjoy
integrating technology into the math curriculum and helping the
students see the relationships of the mathematical topics to the
real world. |
